Asparagus from Navarre, protected by the Denomination of Origin, is well-known and easily distinguished by its white color, smooth texture, little or no fiber, and exquisite flavor. The harvest takes place during late March or early June, using traditional methods that preserve flavor and water content by beginning at six in the morning and bottling the same day. Once bottled, it can be savored throughout the year.
Its nutritional qualities make it a healthy choice: Vitamins B, C and E, and antioxidants, a good diuretic, low in calories. |
