TURRON

The turron is the typical Spanish nougat, obtained by cooking honey and adding toasted almonds (usually peeled) and egg whites and then kneading it to form a rectangular or round tablet. During its manufacture, it undergoes a chopping process that makes the almond lose part of its oil before going through a softening process in which the mixture is evened out until it achieves the typical golden color and soft texture that characterize it.
Alemany is one of the few still artisanal turron manufacturers. Our turron is made with 70% marcona almond and rosemary honey… a delicious and healthy snack. The distinguishing feature of Alemany Turron is due to a recipe from the 19th century that gives the confection its characteristic whiteness. Baked slowly, local nuts and a carefully selected rosemary honey are part of a secret that gives our Turron its special taste.
